Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk - Zimbabwe

It was back in 2012 – eight years ago – that Zimbabwe was invited to prepare the 2020 World Day of Prayer. At that time, the country was facing many challenges.

Since then, Zimbabwe has gone through many changes notably the ousting of Robert Mugabe. But the new dawn that so many had hoped and prayed for has not happened. In fact, life for ordinary Zimbabweans is harder than ever.

Please go to our News page to find extracts from a letter sent to me by a member of the Zimbabwean National Committee.

And please continue to pray for Zimbabwe.

I hope that your preparations for the service on 6th March are going well and that all our services will prove inspirational for all who attend. Please don’t forget to tell us about them, and about your follow-up meetings and their outcomes too.

Blessings

Elizabeth Burroughs
Chairperson, National Committee for England, Wales & Northern Ireland
