Global Healing - Care For Our Common Home

Posted on: 01/02/2019

On Wednesday 30th January Sister Joan hosted an event at Our Lady and the Lancashire Martyrs to raise awareness of is the environment and the affect human beings are having on our earth. This is perhaps one of the most talked about topics of our day.

The Bishops of England and Wales in conjunction with CaFE have produced a 45 minute DVD that explores the themes of Laudato Si, Pope Francis' encyclical letter on the connection among faith, environmental and social issues.

On the DVD various Christians described how they had responded to the global environmental challenges in their daily lives, based on their faith convictions as well as their environmental concerns.

Following the DVD we discussed as a group its contents and the practical implications for our parish, family and wider community.
